I am very much looking forward to spring! This past winter has been very busy getting ready for the upcoming show season.
In getting ready I have new paintings, prints, note cards to offer, and 2 new mugs! I have also taken on a recycled art / craft endeavor. By taking empty wine bottles, I have now started vases, candle holders, votive and soon jewelry will follow. I have slacked a bit in the blog department as of late, June is a very busy month and yet I have never mastered the ability to get it all done....
I never even got a chance to say that the Boyertown sidewalk Expo was coming up and now it already happened *shrug* past Tuesday. I had a wonderful time while at the Expo, I always love to see who all comes out and to see what is new in town. I also do a small display of new work for sale. It was a wonderful turnout, however it was June and it was only 68 degrees!!!! Never in my entire life do I recall it not being in the 90's for the Expo. Lesson learned I will always have a blanket. Thanks to all of you that stopped by to say HI and to those of you that helped to support me!
Arts Alive 2009 is this Father's Day weekend! SO I have opted to head to the beach a little early and do some plein air painting before the show. I plan on heading out brush and paint first thing in the morning!

The forecast is looking AMAZING for the Somerset Art in the Garden Show!!!! We could not ask for a better weekend then sun, sun and more sun!

Seriously on the rain..... I wish it would just be spring already! Saturday on the other hand was beautiful! I got quite a few paintings started and finished all while playing outside with my children. ( I love my job!!!!)

I have devoted these rainy days to making frames, so today I was COVERED in saw dust!

This weekend the forecast is looking GREAT just in time for a wonderfully fun show that I can not wait to do again! Crossing my fingers that the forecast does NOT change, sunshine here we come!!!

Sand in my toes & the Chincoteague Island Decoy and Art show!

Finally amongst all the rainy weather we have had in PA I got to spend a day on the beach!! Wonderful weather yesterday here in Chincoteague Island VA. The sun was shinning, just enough wind to fly some kites and the sand was warm. The water was a little cold, but you know I could NOT resist putting my toes in it! It was a wonderful way to rejuvenate after a few weeks of getting prints and frames together! I am definitely ready for the show today and tomorrow!

April 10 – Noon-6:00 p.m. April 11 – 9:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. 2009

Admission Fee: $3.00 each day - children under 12 are free Approx. 100 local and national carvers and artists exhibit their work. Awards are given in various carving categories, art and photography. Special awards are given for best carving display and best art display. There is also a Children’s Choice Award given for a favorite artist. The Curtis Merritt Award of Excellence is awarded to the exhibitor who displays excellence as an individual as well as an artist and/or carver. This award is voted on by the exhibitors. There will be hand carved and/or painted wooden Easter Eggs designed by various exhibitors which will be offered in a silent auction

Rain rain go away...

It is my personal opinion that we have had enough rain and I would really like to start seeing some flowers!

Firstly I want to send out a huge THANKS to everyone that came out to the Bean last Friday for the show.... What a GREAT time had by all!

I am a little over a week away from the RSVP show, plenty to do to get ready, and my poor mother BREAKS her foot! So between helping her and working I am hoping to at least get a few of my new prints and note cards ready!

I am now offering my "Chincoteague Island Sunset" painting as a print in a black 10 x 24 mat (image itself is 6 x 18)$60.00 (unframed)
and my "Chincoteague Bridge on a September Evening" painting as a print in a black 11 x 14 mat (image itself is 5 x 10 1/2)$30.00 (unframed) and as note cards $15.00 per box of 10 cards

Today has been a wonderfully productive day that started with the death of my iPod that's right, my iPod with ALL my music that I paint too, I was not sure how this would turn out. Gladly I discovered painting without music is not as bad as I thought.

A finished painting

I drove out to Blue Sky cafe' in Bethlehem yesterday to switch out some art and drop off some new pieces. Blue Sky is a wonderful place to eat & I had a great time mingling with the locals, and looking at all the great work by other artists in the area.

The drive itself was fantastic I put the window down (yes even though it was freezing), turned the heat on high and was jamming out to my music! Something I do not get to do nearly enough.
I then bought some new brushes and canvases for my adventures today!

I spent most the day in my studio enjoying the peace of it all. I worked on 4 different paintings and finally finished one I had been working on for a few weeks now. It is a 6 x 12 oil on canvas titled "Chincoteague Bridge on a September Evening" it was inspired by a night on Chincoteague Island after I had finished up at the Labor Day show. I was taking the kids to the Island Creamery for the worlds best ice cream when I saw this AMAZING sunset!!!!! I pulled over and took a load of pictures. I have now turned 2 of those photos into paintings!

Hello all! I am brand new to blogging but I hope to get better at it with practice.
I will be using this blog to primarily post upcoming events for my art business, but I am sure i will also use it to share funny stories from the shows I attend and to just randomly shout out thoughts that I may have.

A little history of myself ------- I love what I do, I am a full-time artist and a part-time hair designer. I am truly a lucky person to be able to wake up everyday and do exactly what I have always dreamed of doing. Well, ok, I never in the beginning knew how much paperwork was involved in owning a business, but over time I have even grown to enjoy that (a little). The paintings are where my heart lies though.

As of now the only new news I have is that I have updated my website! check it out!
